Saturday 30th August 2008

Venue : The Isle of Purbeck

A beautiful sunny day welcomed the players for this year's NvS trophy, with the visiting squad eager to add to their victory in the Kev Cup earlier in the year.

A superb practice round at the excellent Knighton Heath in Poole, topped off with attendance from the Red Arrows and a slightly worried deer, set everyone up for a great day's battle around the Purbeck.

The home team really maximised their home advantage from early on, wiping out the Dornford challenge by the 13th, and the Lowe/Deaville partnership by the 14th. This set the tone for the day and even unleashing the pure, poetic banditry of Andy Toft couldn't rescue the trophy from Dave Selby's clutches.

All in all, a damn good dicking.

Final result : 5 - 2 to the South.

Selby retains the trophy.

Well done guys, a great weekend, as ever and BIG thanks again to Dave and Joy for hosting such a great BBQ on the saturday evening.
